The Ministry of Education has established the Academic Awards in order to encourage academic research and enhance academic standards. According to “Ministry of Education’s Regulations Governing the Establishment of the Academic Award”, the Academic Awards shall be conferred on persons who have actively engaged in academic research in Taiwan, and have made important contributions or achieved outstanding accomplishments, and whose work is recognized by the academic community. A candidate who does not hold Republic of China nationality shall have been employed in a full-time position in Taiwan at a junior college, tertiary level educational institution, or an academic research institute for at least five years.

        Research Areas for Prof. Kung-Hwa Wei include:

  • Synthesis of donor-acceptor conjugated polymers for solar cells and light emitting diodes
  • II-VI group colloidal quantum dots/ block copolymer nanocomposites
  • Clay or polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane/polymer nanocomposites
  • Conjugated polymers/nanoparticles for optoelectronic memory devices

        Prof. Prof. Kung-Hwa Wei has won 2003 Outstanding Research Awards, 2010 Outstanding Research Awards, 2014 Outstanding Research Awards from National Science and Technology Council.
