NYCU College of Engineering Hosts International Summer Internship Program 2025, Welcoming 81 Students from Asia
The College of Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) successfully hosted the International Summer Internship Program 2025 from July 7 to July 12, 2025. The program was jointly organized by the College of Engineering, the Department of Civil Engineering, the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, with generous support from the Office of International Affairs.
This one-week intensive program featured three specialized course tracks: Laser 3D Printing, Advanced Materials Technologies, and Sustainability in Civil Engineering Practices. Students were able to select courses based on their academic background and interests, engaging in interactive learning environments alongside peers and faculty members. Each course carried 1 academic credit (16 hours), and credits are transferable among partner universities, offering participants tangible academic benefits and strengthening their international academic pathways.
A total of 81 students participated in the program, representing leading partner institutions including:
Vietnam National University, Hanoi – University of Science (VNU-HUS)
Can Tho University – College of Engineering (CTU-CoE)
Can Tho University – College of Science (CTU-CoS)
Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE)
Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR), Indonesia
Among the participants, four universities were from Vietnam and one from Indonesia, reflecting NYCU’s strong and growing academic partnerships across Southeast Asia.
In addition to academic coursework, the program incorporated cultural excursions and technical visits, allowing participants to experience Taiwan’s vibrant culture, natural landscapes, and technological advancements firsthand. These activities provided students with deeper insights into Taiwanese society while fostering cross-cultural exchange and global networking.
Through this program, NYCU continues to demonstrate its commitment to internationalization and global talent cultivation, creating meaningful opportunities for students to expand their academic horizons and strengthen their connections with Taiwan. The experience is expected to inspire participants to pursue further studies and collaborations with NYCU in the future.
