Welcoming Purdue University’s School of Mechanical Engineering to NYCU-Coe for a Joint Workshop

National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) hosted the “Purdue–NYCU Joint Workshop” on May 11–12, 2026, welcoming professors and scholars from Purdue University to Taiwan for academic exchange and collaboration in the field of mechanical engineering. Through keynote presentations, research sharing, and laboratory visits, the workshop further strengthened international academic partnerships and research connections between the two institutions.

The two-day workshop was held at NYCU’s Hsinchu campus and began with a joint opening session attended by faculty members and researchers from both universities. The program focused on topics including Thermal-Fluid and Energy, Control and Manufacturing, smart manufacturing, robotics, semiconductor cooling technologies, digital twins, autonomous systems, energy materials, and nano-manufacturing.

During the workshop, faculty members from Purdue University and NYCU shared their latest research achievements and participated in laboratory visits and technical discussions, encouraging deeper interaction among research teams. On the second day, participants also visited the Institute of Space Systems Engineering (iSSE) at NYCU and the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA), highlighting Taiwan’s advancements in aerospace and interdisciplinary engineering research.

NYCU stated that the workshop not only strengthened its partnership with Purdue University, but also laid a solid foundation for future collaborations in research, student exchange, and international academic initiatives, further expanding the global academic network and international impact of both institutions.
